The result is timely programs that spark students’ imaginations to the possibilities of a CPA career and shapes financial decision-making for life.
Help minority high school students bridge to the next level of their education. Through ACAP-Ohio, the Foundation partners with the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) to provide a week-long residential college experience for minority high school students considering an accounting career.
It’s never too early to teach kids the connection between managing money and future success. When students learn the value of a dollar, how to earn it, spend wisely and save, they have a better chance of growing into fiscally responsible adults. Train Ohioans how to whip their personal finances into shape with the help of Financial Fitness Ohio. At the heart of the initiative, CPA volunteers teach how to overcome financial challenges by taking charge of personal finances and making informed decisions. We’ll provide the resources, you provide the expertise, and together we’ll work to improve the financial outlook for Ohioans.
Debunking stereotypes, attracting fresh faces to the career, and recruiting affiliate members, student ambassadors work to promote accounting to their peers all from the comfort of their own college campuses. Although they’ve got their work cut out for them, The Ohio Society of CPAs provides an arsenal of resources to position them for success in creating a pipeline to the profession.
Each year, the Ohio CPA Foundation awarded over $50,000 in college scholarships to Society student members in pursuit of an accounting degree at an Ohio school. The application process is simple and the top candidate in each region is invited to participate in a competition to win an additional $3,000 reward.
